This is the place where you can find fun things to do with the marshmallows you make.

Did you know you can freeze marshmallows? That’s right – you can make them up to 2 months ahead and freeze them. Talk about convenient! Cut and coat the marshmallows and place each one in a cupcake liner, then into a plastic container that has been lined with a double layer of paper towel. If you are putting more than one layer into the container, separate the layers with wax paper. Be sure to place a piece of wax paper over the top layer before you attach the lid to the container.

There are millions of families in this country that enjoy their candied sweet potatoes with marshmallows melted on the top. I made some Spiced Apple Marshmallows and used them to top this dish of candied sweet potatoes (some call them candied yams) and my family loved them! You can find the recipes on my baking web site:
www.howthecookiecrumbles.com.

Want to make some pretty Valentine’s Day treats that people will think are fun? Make a batch of marshmallows (something pink is nice) and let them cure. Cut out heart shapes in varying sizes, and write on them with food coloring pens, so that they look like the candy hearts that kids trade on Valentine’s Day. Don’t make them too small, or you won’t be able to write on them. If you have the time, make a few different marshmallow colors.

Here is a photo of what I made for a potluck dinner. They are snowballs, made with chocolate cake and piped with banana marshmallow. The combination was delicious. I didn’t use coconut on all of them, because my kids don’t care for it. The recipes are in my Marshmallows cookbook.

I also made these tasty chocolate-dipped marshmallows for the party. I dipped peppermint marshmallows at a diagonal, and I totally enrobed raspberry-cassis marshmallows. I used Callebaut dark chocolate for the dipping, and sprinkled shiny pink dust over them. (You can buy the dust at specialty food stores, or online at fantes.com.) The treats were very well received.
